Yarn Review: KnitPicks Felici!

Updated: Nov 30, 2020

Welcome to another yarn review:

If you’re new around here, let me introduce you to another yarn review! I love to share and review different yarns with y’all, and let you know my honest thoughts. As always, I have an accompanying YouTube video to go along with this post that goes into deep detail as well! Be sure to check that out by clicking the picture below, or the link at the bottom of the page ;)

The Yarn:

KnitPicks/WeCrochet offers so many yarns, but Felici is one of the classics! It is so popular...and for good reason! If you love self-striping yarns, this is pretty much a dream come true! It comes in Fingering Weight, and also Worsted Weight. Felici is a 75/25 Superwash Merino/Nylon blend, which is just perfect for socks. The merino is so soft, but the nylon adds durability and strength. They’re soft, but last forever. What more could you ask for? Now, socks are definitely the most commonly made item with Felici. However, there are so many other great possibilities!

What I like to make with it:

I always think it is helpful to give advice on what to make with a certain yarn. Sometimes it can be hard to choose a project, whether it is simply because of indecisive-ness, or just not knowing what that yarn would work best for.

Now, as mentioned previously, Felici is a great socks yarn. However some other great options are my Vanilla Twist Cowl(s), (knit and crochet versions!), hats, mittens, leg warmers, etc. There is so many different ideas and projects to bring into fruition!

Other notes:

One thing that I have found, and love, about this yarn is that though it is plied, it does not split at all. When yarn splits, it is very frustrating. It slows me down, and can cause issues in the future if I split a stitch without knowing it. I have not found that this yarn splits at all!

SO many colors! Each one is self striping, but they’re all so different. I would love to have a pair of socks in all of them...

Should you buy it?

I highly recommend trying Felici, even if it is a bit out of your comfort zone! It is different, unique, but so beautiful! Give it a shot!
