Yarn Review: Dishie!

Welcome to another yarn review!:

If you’re new around here, let me introduce you to another yarn review! I love to share and review different yarns with y’all, and let you know my honest thoughts. As always, I have an accompanying YouTube video to go along with this post that goes into deep detail as well! Be sure to check that out by clicking the picture below, or the link at the bottom of the page ;)

The Yarn:

KnitPicks/WeCrochet offers so many yarns, but Dishie has been one of my favorites for a very long time. It is a 100% cotton yarn, worsted weight, and comes in 100 gram balls. It is durable, color-fast like I’ve never seen, and so easy to work with! Sometimes I find cotton yarns difficult to knit/crochet with, because they tend to be rough. But Dishie is different! It is soft, thus easy to work with, but still has that undeniable cotton strength. It’s the best of both worlds ;)

What I like to make with it:

I always think it is helpful to give advice on what to make with a certain yarn. Sometimes it can be hard to choose a project, whether it is simply because of indecisive-ness, or just no knowing what that yarn would work best for.

For this yarn, I recommend making something that is going to get a lot of use. Some example are dishcloths, washcloths, placemats, rugs, etc. Like I said earlier, Dishie is such a durable cotton that it can withstand long-term, heavy use. While I think Dishie has the potential to make great summer garments, I would recommend something a bit softer, and more drapey for things like that. Maybe try Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Cotton (see my review for that yarn here), or other KnitPicks/WeCrochet yarns such as Shine Worsted, Cotlin, Curio, Lindy Chain, and so many more! All of these options are better suited for garments, yet still have a high cotton content.

Other notes:

One thing that I love about this yarn is that I love knitting OR crocheting with it. Sometimes, I feel that a yarn is just better suited for one of the two. But not with this!

Even though it is durable and strong, it is still so soft to work with. This is an extremely delicate balance with cotton yarns (especially 100% cotton), but KnitPicks nailed it!

There are SO MANY beautiful colors. Seriously. Can I just have them all please? There’s also multi colored. And twist. I mean, come on.

Should you buy it?

If you’re looking for a great, color--fast, easy to knit/crochet with, 100% cotton yarn, then YES. It is calling your name!
