Throwback Thursday: Scout Hat

Throwback Thursday:

If you’re new around here, you may not know how I celebrate Throwback Thursday! Every Thursday, I highlight a specific project I made a while ago. It might be as recent as a couple months, or as old as a few years. It is simply a project you’ve never seen from me, or at least haven’t seen in a long time. I started doing it because I wanted to have a good reason to share my older projects with you, since I just started my YouTube channel this past May. I hope you keep reading about this week’s project, and check out the YouTube video! I also have a playlist for all my Throwback Thursday Episodes on my channel, so be sure to check that out if you haven’t already ;)

This week’s project:

This week’s project is the Scout Hat by Alicia Plummer. This is a worsted weight, heavily cabled and textured, bottom up beanie. I had the pleasure of test knitting this beanie for Alicia and I loved knitting it. It was fairly simple, but still very enjoyable because of all the different elements.

The yarn:

I used KnitPicks Brava Worsted in the colorway Denim for this hat, and I really love the way it looks! I have used Denim quite a few times now, and I just love the color. I am really not that big of a “blue” person. I think greener blues, such as teal, but I really don’t care to wear stark blues, such as royal blue, or sea blue. However, I like the subtleness of this blue a lot!

Would I make this project again?

Absolutely! I think this beanie would make an AMAZING gift for someone...especially when paired with some chocolate, or a fun t-shirt, or topped with a faux-fur pom pom. Endless possibilities. I actually would really like a cream one…
