DK Success Socks
Another sock pattern has begun, and the pair is now half way complete!
I have no idea when this pattern will become available, but I am fully enjoying working on it. I can’t wait to wear it!
These worsted weight socks are currently in testing, and will be released on August 31 as a Blog Post with Kalley of Kneedles and Life! So excited for this opportunity!
This design was put on hold last week, but it is back in the current WIP pile right now! Of course I am releasing them as a standard pattern, but I am making a pair for each of the two sweet girls I babysit. The oldest has asked me every day if I am done with them...I truly can’t wait to give them to her!
Today I wanted to talk about a topic that might not be “typical”, but still important. The act of “taking it all in”
So often, we are too involved with what is happening in our lives that we fail to see the beautifully simplistic things. Whether it is taking in the sunrise/sunset, enjoying a slow morning, or taking a walk...there is beauty in it all.
We had a little “Lake Day” with family from Pennsylvania earlier this week, and it was wonderful. We didn’t do anything crazy, but just enjoyed time together. We swam, road in the boat, played with sweet kids, and had an amazing meal together.
To top it all off, we drove home through the most beautiful sunset. It was beautiful day. No, it wasn’t perfect. Some things didn’t go according to plan, and all of that was in the afternoon. Half a day happened before any of the “fun” started.
But you know what? It was just what I needed. It was just the reminder I needed that we don’t have to be so extravagant. Witnessing a sunset, and taking the time to take it in and appreciate God’s creativity is one of the most important things I could do in a day!
So, with all this, I encourage you to bask in the simplicity of just being here. Look outside. Recognize God’s beautiful creation. Instead of constantly being reminded of the negative things in this world...appreciate and value what has been here all along. Never underestimate God’s goodness, faithfulness, and love towards YOU. I am so grateful for each of you! Have an amazing week :)
Until next time,
Amy Kate <3
