DK Success Socks
Another sock pattern has begun! This sport/DK version is going to be so nice to wear.
Last Sunday, our Pastor talked about a topic that has been on my heart and mind ever since. Contentment.
Contentment is honestly a hard subject for me. I love to have plans and set goals, and it seems to me that those traits are hard to pair with a content heart. However, he specifically pointed out that it is possible, and okay, to be content and still desire change.
Paul wrote in Philippians 4:11, “I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.”
I have been thinking about last week’s sermon all this week. I think that shows how applicable it is to my life, and how I still need to grow as a Christian and young woman. I have big goals and dreams, and I pray God reveals the answers. However, He has already taught me so much about being content in the season I am in now.
I have said it before and I am sure I will say it again...this season is not easy. In fact, it may be the hardest yet. But it is SO worth it. School, work, this business, all of it. I am learning about balance, his overwhelming grace, and now, being content through it all.
The definition formed by my Pastor is this: Contentment is when we become convinced that who we are and what we have in Christ is more adequate or more than enough for ever situation in life that we will face.
I just love his definition so much. It is saying that no matter what we’ve been through, what we’re going through, or what we’ll go through, he is more than enough. It is possible to learn and grow and set new goals, but it is equally important to recognize the value of the current season, and be content.
I hope this has encouraged you today! I pray we all learn to have a content heart :)
Until next time,
Amy Kate <3
