For my devotional this week I talked about Luke 1:45. Y’all, this verse. It is SO good. Over the course of my 18 years here on Earth, I have had a lot of favorite verses. But this one is hands-down my favorite. This verse has helped carry me through the past couple years, and especially the past few months.
Luke 1:45 is a line that Elizabeth first said when Mary, who was carrying Jesus, came to visit. Elizabeth was also pregnant, and though she didn’t know Mary was pregnant, the baby in her womb leapt for joy at Mary’s arrival. Elizabeth not only knew then that Mary was pregnant, but she also knew WHO she was pregnant with. God’s one and only son.
Now, I obviously don’t relate to this verse in that way. But, it has presented itself in so many other ways in my life.
In my college decision. For 8 ½ of the 10 months I was a senior, I lived in fear of the unknown. I had no idea what I was going to do in college. I was asked the question “what college are you going to?”, “what are you studying?”, etc, more times than I could count. I was preparing for the ACT and SAT, but tests aren’t my strong suit, and I didn’t score high enough to get a full scholarship. But, in late April, I received an Honors Scholarship from Gadsden State Community College. No, it wasn’t my *first* choice...but oh man, I am SO grateful.
In my business/future career. Y’all probably know by now that I want to turn this into a full-fledged career. Well...actually what my real dream is is to have a family, homeschool my kids, and do this part-time. Over the course of the last three months, God has shown himself to me more than ever before. He has opened doors, and closed them. All for my good.
There are so many other ways this verse has impacted my life. It is the home screen on my phone, and my mom recently gifted me a (super cute!) shirt with Luke 1:45 on it...by coincidence. Except, not by coincidence because our God isn’t a God of chance.
I truly believe that God is slowly but surely fulfilling his promises to me. I don’t know what they are all, but if the desires of my heart honor Him, I know they are worth fighting for.
When you’re reading this (August 18, 2020), I start college tomorrow. It isn’t going to look like how I pictured, but that is ok! I am going to work hard, and always do my best. God gave me this opportunity. I am never going to take it for granted ;)
While the start of adulthood and college isn’t exactly how I imagined, I know in my heart that I am exactly where God wants me to be. And he’s not finished with me yet!
I encourage you to stay true to HIM. He knows your heart’s desires. Do they line up with HIS plans for you? Pray. Seek Him. He is ready and waiting.
Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!
I hope you enjoyed this week’s podcast! I am always so delighted to film and share each episode with you guys. Thanks so much for sharing this journey with me!
I hope and pray that you continue to have an amazing week. Stay tuned for all the exciting things coming later this week...starting with an AMAZING pattern release tomorrow!!
Until next time,
