It’s Pattern Release Day!
If you’re new here, you may or may not know one of my biggest 2020 goals. For the year of 2020, I decided to challenge myself to release one pattern every single week. Let me tell you…this is a lofty goal. But so far I have stuck to it, and I am so proud of myself! Throughout this journey, I have completely fallen in love with designing knit and crochet patterns. It is absolutely amazing to be able to dream up a pattern, make it, write it, and then PUBLISH it as your own. The feeling is one I will always remember. And thankfully, one that I continue to live!
This week’s pattern is the Homebody Placemats! This is my first ever placemat pattern and I am so in love with them ;)
The pattern is mostly garter, with the occasional row of dropped stitches for some added interest. But don’t let that scare you! If you can simply knit a stitch you can make these placemats. The dropped stitches are made by creating yarn overs, and then sliding them off the needle on the next row, instead of knitting them. Give it a shot!
The yarn is used for this design is KnitPicks Dishie! You can check my video review for this yarn here, or the blog post here, it is hands down my favorite cotton for heavily used items like this. For this pattern, I used two colors held double, and size 8 needles.
Gauge and Needles:
Though a specific is listed in the pattern, it is only necessary to achieve this if you want to ensure your placemats will be the same size as mine ;)
