If you’ve been following me for a little while, you probably know that I LOVE testing patterns. I love using the experience as an opportunity to meet new people (the other testers), work with designers, and learn more and more about different designer’s processes. I am so grateful for each and every pattern that I have been able to test! And let me assure you, this one is no different.
Melissa, the designer behind Woods and Wool, is so incredible. Not only is she one of the nicest, kindest, most genuine people I have ever met in this community, but she is also so amazingly talented! Her patterns are simple, yet so sophisticated. If you haven’t heard of her, I would recommend taking a look at the Pebble Cardi, or the My Favorite Dishcloth patterns of hers. The Pebble Cardi is something that I want to make soooo bad, and I can not wait to have the time to do so!
And just as a bonus...she has the cutest little dog ever. Seriously. He is so loved ;)
The Testing Process:
I can honestly say that this is one of the BEST testing experiences I have ever had. The group was encouraging, Melissa was actively participating in conversations, everyone was kind...it was just amazing. I loved it! The group chat was held on Instagram, which is my favorite method. Slack is also nice, but I personally prefer IG. That being said, it is the designer’s choice and I will gladly participate in any way I need to!
Are you ready to talk about this amazing pattern? This crochet tee pattern is extremely easy to follow, beginner friendly, and mindless. I mean, come on. Is there a better combination? It uses a DK weight yarn, crocheted at a lovely gauge that results in a phenomenal drape. The pattern includes many sizes, so you’re sure to find one that fits you well!
I highly recommend this pattern to anyone who wants to crochet a simple tee. Whether this is your first garment or 50th, you’re sure to enjoy it!
My finished object:
I can honestly and without a doubt say that this tee is one of my most favorite things I have ever made. The yarn, the gauge, the fit, the stitch pattern, the designer herself, the fact that I MADE it...I just love it so much.
I made the size XS/1, and achieved perfect gauge! Thus, my measurements are exactly the same as the pattern. It fits me flawlessly. Some testers added length to the body of their sweater, and if you have a long torso I would suggest considering that. However, let’s be real here, no part of me is long. Except my hair. And that could change with a simple haircut. So...I didn’t add any length. Haha! But in all seriousness, the length is perfect ;)
For this tee, I used We Crochet (Knit Picks) Cotlin Reflections in the colorway Eclipse Reflections. Melissa actually messaged me privately saying that she would love to see this tee crocheted with this yarn, and you should have seen my face when I read her email! I was SO happy. I thought it would look amazing, but wouldn’t have made the substitution if she wasn’t ok with it. I truly believe that this yarn works perfectly for this design! And again, I achieved perfect gauge with the recommended hook size.
If you haven’t heard it enough already, I LOVE my finished object so much, and I am going to get so much wear out of it! Be sure to check out the links below for the pattern ;)
