Genesis Blanket | Free Knitting Pattern

This knitted blanket is squishy and cozy and the perfect handmade addition to any living space!

Materials
13 balls of Hobbii Amigo Chunky in Curry (A38), or approximately 1400 yards of another bulky weight yarn
Size 11 (8.00 mm) 32” circular needles
Ruler, scissors, yarn needle
Gauge
10 stitches by 4 rows = 4 inches in pattern
Abbreviations
CO: cast on
RS/WS: right side/wrong side
k: knit
p: purl
st(s): stitch(es)
*...*: repeat the instructions in the asterisks
sl1wyif: slip one stitch with yarn in front
rem: remain
FO: finish off

This blanket is worked flat, but circular needles will be used to accommodate the number of stitches.
When finished, this blanket measures approximately 50 by 55 inches.
To adjust the width, cast on in multiples of 4 plus 2. (example: 26)
To adjust the length, work less/more body repeats.
Bottom Hem
CO 122 sts
Row 1, 3 and 5 (WS)
p1, sl1wyif, *k2, p2* until two sts rem, sl1wyif, p1
Row 2 and 4 (RS)
k2, *p2, k2* until two sts rem, k2
Body
Row 1 (RS)
k all sts
Row 2 (WS)
p1, sl1wyif, p until two sts rem, sl1wyif, p1
Row 3
*k2, p2* until two sts rem, k2
Row 4
p1, sl1wyif, p until two sts rem, sl1wyif, p1
Row 5
k all sts
Row 6
p1, sl1wyif, k2, *p2, k2* until two sts rem, sl1wyif, p1
Repeat Rows 1-6 until you have a total of 30 repeats, or until the blanket is your desired length. Work Rows 1-2 once more.
Top Hem
Row 1 and 3 (RS)

Row 2 and 4 (WS)
p1, sl1wyif, *k2, p2* until two sts rem, sl1wyif, p1
Row 5
Bind off while maintaining rib pattern
