These little scrunchies take almost no time to make, but are the perfect addition to a craft fair table, or last minute handmade gift! I hope you enjoy this pattern, and let me know what you think in the comments!
3 different colors of Yarn Bee Velvety Smooth (sample uses purple, silver, and olive)
Size J (6.0 mm) crochet hook
Ponytail holders (one per scrunchie)
It is not at all necessary to obtain a certain gauge for this project. However, listed below is the gauge that I achieved with the same yarn and hook size, working flat, in the same stitch pattern.
10 stitches and 5 rows = 4 inches in half double crochet
hdc: half double crochet
f/o: finish off
Follow the step by step video tutorial here!: https://youtu.be/UuyR2TM-ruQ
Each scrunchie will use approximately 10 yards of yarn, which translates to 7-8 scrunchie per ball of this specific yarn.
The tutorial shows you how to weave in your ends with a crochet hook, and I recommend using that method for this project for simplicity.
You’re more than welcome to sell any scrunchies you make using this pattern. I simply ask that you do not redistribute the pattern itself, and give the pattern credit as you sell the scrunchies.
I recommend selling these scrunchies in sets of three, but of course you can change that.
Find the printable labels below!
Attach your yarn to the ponytail holder (see tutorial if needed), and ch 1.
I recommend working over the tail for the first few sts, so that you have one less end to weave in later!
Round 1: work 55 hdc sts around the ponytail holder. Slip stitch to the first st. (55 sts)
f/o, and weave in your ends. Enjoy!
