At the time you’re watching this week’s episode, Easter will have passed. However, I wanted to talk for a couple of minutes about new realizations I have had this year.
As I get older, I feel the way I look at Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection changes a bit. Now, I am always amazed, grateful, and humbled, but I feel as I get more mature, I begin to understand more and more about what it really meant.
This year, I have been thinking about what the witness’s were thinking. What the disciples were thinking. What Mary, Jesus’s mother, was thinking. The truth is we will never know what they thought, just like we can never really know what others are thinking today.
Something that came into my mind earlier this week is the fact that they didn’t understand what was happening. They did know that Jesus was going to rise from the dead in three days! In this day, we are sad and in a state of quiet and peace on Good Friday, but we know what to anticipate on Sunday. Jesus’s friends and followers didn’t have that opportunity. They were completely heart broken.
The older I get, the more I realize how much Jesus truly gave. He gave everything, just so we could have eternal life with the father. How amazing is that? How beautiful is that? How life-changing is that?
Jesus entered the darkness that he didn’t deserve. He lived a perfect life, yet died a gruesome death. For us. For me. For YOU. For all who choose to accept it!
I encourage you to be inspired and enlightened about the fact that Jesus did all this for you. Through his death and resurrection, we can have a personal and intimate relationship with God. I pray that we never neglect to appreciate the wonderful life-changing blessing that this is.
I am so grateful for y’all, and hope you had a beautiful Easter Sunday!
Until next time,
Amy Kate <3
